Everyday Bliss

everyday bliss is not remembered
i know exactly how my belly aches
you rang a couple of times before i answered
i coughed, i moaned and i shaked

i didn't really want to hear your stories and facts
but i needed your voice so i asked

we did it in the woods near sleepy hallow
it was cold, at sundown the dinner was served
it was dark but the leaves were still yellow
and every little sound was heard

then we had to make it down to the river and back
when the dead of the night had turned black

the near thought of you makes me cry
it fills my heart with a sour mirth
i can't get over the fact that you will die
and there will be nothing left on earth

so i have to keep away on my own account
and love all days now they are my owns

Diamonds in my hand

I gave them four Franklins to cross the ocean
And that left me with a grand to live on
And one half of a tenth of a grand
Felt like diamonds in my hand

I got a Jackson jacket cause I liked it a lot
It looked hot and the weather did not
By the time I realised it wasn't rainproof
I'd blown all my chances to find a roof

Hamilton shoes won't keep you dry
But they are just as good to the eye
As dead skin vintage pro whatever
from a moral point of view the're even better

I have a good friend who lives in a house
In order to get in touch with him I had to grab a mouse
I spotted the icon that I needed to click on
But when I did they asked me for a Lincoln

The Jefferson Breakfast comes with coffee and sugar
I had me one and then had me another
I asked the guy who was working there at the Deli
For the time and some advice but he wouldn't tell me

The yellow on my finger tips
matches the yellow on my shoulder chips
Jefferson tobacco comes with thick skins
Like jefferson tees come with beautiful stains

I get offended every time I hear
Jefferson fourties are not beer
And if it's your round of draft I'll have a sip
And I'll even take care of the Washington tip

Crazy While

You want me now,
you're all looks and smiles
but i've been around
for a crazy while

just watch me in this shirt,
the same blue as my eyes
you treated me like dirt,
now you're the one who cries

i've found somebody
who treats me right
she calls me baby
and she holds me tight

i'll never forget
what look that you gave me
now beat it or let
melet you save me

Berlin Song

What does one do to get a glass of water
Said the stranger to the waiter
I should feel at home It should be like my city
I also have a split personnality

I like green I like the green of the cigarette packs
And the broken glass all over the street car tracks
I like the green river, the green parks, the green cars
I like the green ashtrays in the green beer bars

I Still haven't seen the sun of the sunrise
It's OK to be new in a brand new town
It's fine to be square but don't be surprised
When the U-Bahn goes up and the S-Bahn goes down

I was feeling restless so I walked around a little
With an un-green beer a Berliner Kindle
Then I went to see the crows over the last well-known half church
Superheroes checked my ticket as the street train lurched

A crazy old woman sang and seem to expect cheers
From green haired punks with dogs and beers
They were only Hipsters on the tram zwanzig
It was already three and the dim light vanished

Don’t Let The Big Men Hurt You

how foolish of me
to think she could love me
how foolish of me
to want her to

how stupid and vain,
how insane
but what a good lump
to wander through

don't let the big men hurt you,
better what you're in for
don't let the big men hurt you,
don't let them hurt you anymore

she said something in german
that was a turn-on
not only on account
of the language it was in

her hair was tied
and she was cross-eyed
sometimes it's hard to tell
what beauty really lies in

Just Improving Myself

some of them grow weed,
some of them hold list
some of them succeed,
some of them risk it

i'm just improving myself,
i'm just improving myself

i'm teaching myself to smile,
to keep it on a while
i'm sure i'd do better than
that grin on the picture

i'm trying to speak my heart
and to keep it in one part
cause i love a language
and a deep dark cleavage

i'm teaching myself to give
up and give away
lie and deceive,
grow up and decay

and maybe i'll make a good
husband and father
eat proper food
and dress according to the weather

Birthday Song

i hope that you realize
how happy i was
to know that you were alive with me

i hope you remember
the summers we numbered
and i hope it's a good memory

this is the length of the day
that started to say your name
and it's still the same

it was another year
but the earth was here
and it's a merry anniversary

here comes the season again
it changed and remained
the one i know and i like it so

i'll live for another century
but only if you keep me company

come rain and spring again
